Realtor Spotlight: Dee Russell
We sat down to talk with Dee Russell about her love of horses, her former life as a small business owner, and her love of family. Enjoy.
“How did you become a Realtor?”
I owned a cleaning business in the 80’s. During that time I worked with a lot of contractors both residential and commercial. I got interested in the RE industry at that time. I took the plunge almost 20 years ago and have never looked back. This business is so interesting, mainly due to the people. I hear so many interesting stories of a life that happened in the house. I deal with so many different personalities and their response to the big change that goes on in moving house. The people are the best!
“Tell me about your favorite horse?”
My favorite horse is my first horse. Pudds has been with me since she was 9 months old. She is now 22 years old. She is rock solid. And such a giver. I have owned other horses. Pudds has owned me since the day we met.
“What is your greatest priority when working with clients?”
Telling them the truth. Integrity is very important to me. My clients are not paying me to tell them what they want to hear. They are paying me to help them reach their goal of buying/selling a home. Sometimes what a client wants is very different from the reality of the situation. I have to be willing to tell them that and help find solutions.
“What was the last gift you received that really made you happy?”
The gift of time. My brother and his family make time to come visit me in Nashville. The last visit we went to the Adventure Science Center with his two young children. On the way we discovered the Nashville Cemetery. We made an impromptu stop and had so much fun visiting some very old graves and musing about the stories of people who lived so long ago.
